Somethings we have said about how we want staff to behave

"I think they [some staff] should listen to people a bit more, what they [people with learning difficulties] want to do because some of them [people with learning difficulties] sit around a lot of the time - they are not doing anything".

"It's their [staff] job to listen to people".

"It is your [staff's] job to let the people with learning difficulties know what you are doing".

"I think the staff should mix with people with learning difficulties to go out together".

"We should be given choices".

"[We want to be] treated as adults not children".

"Staff should let people know what is going on and not decide things for people with learning difficulties behind their backs and behind the backs of people's parents".

"[We want] staff to listen and to speak clearly to people with learning difficulties. Staff should never get in a temper or be rude to you".

"Staff should leave any bad temper at home. The people with learning difficulties should also treat people with respect and not swear at them [staff], or argue just for the sake of it".

"Treat us as human beings".

"[Sometimes people without learning difficulties] should understand us a bit more".

"People should have manners, say please and thank you".

"People should give good eye contact".
