hi everybody here is the latest on the SOS Campaign.

We had a good turn out for the march to the town hall on Monday the 30th July.

About 250 people Marched to the Town Hall with Banners to make sure that the council could hear what we thought of their ideas to cut services to people who need support, like people with learning difficulties.

The Labour Councillors held a meeting and decided that they would not change the rules for who can have services ( Called Eligibility Criteria) yet, which is good news but they will start charging people for services, like going to day centres and getting help to live at home ,from September this year.

They will also carry on cutting funding to groups who support people with disabilities like People First Lambeth.

What to do next?

Lambeth are trying to find out what people think they should spend the money they raise from Council Tax next year.

last year when they asked about 800 people replied and because those did not think that supporting people who need help to live independently was as important as youth crime the Council decided to carry out the cuts and changes to services we have been fighting since January……so this year let’s tell them what we think…..
