Culture Diversity Group

The cultural diverse group are a group representing at present three ethnic groups in Lambeth the African, Caribbean and Asian community. We are looking at ways to also include other cultural groups in our meetings.

We are a sub group of the Lambeth Learning Disability Partnership Board. We meet on a Thursday once a month from 11 am to 1pm at Lambeth Accord 336 Brixton road SW9 7AA.

In the group we have people with learning difficulties, carers and workers who come together to talk about what is good and bad about services and what needs to be better to help make services better accessible to people from cultural diverse communities in Lambeth also we look at how services meet the cultural needs of people with learning difficulties and there cares.

We plan and hold information days and celebrate Black history month and end of Ramadan every year.

The group is facilitated by Annabelle Orakpo - Care manager and Debbie Phipps - user involvement worker.
